New Balance toning shoes were launched earlier this year as part of a new Wellness collection. The shoes are aimed at women who want to get more out of exercise and daily activity and keep in trim. By increasing the value of every step taken, the extra effort adds up and the lower body feels like it has had more of a workout at the end of the day. They are a great motivation tool to help you get more active, and they also help to get a noticeable benefit for all the hard work in the quickest possible timeframe.
There is nothing worse than exercising and dieting for a whole month and not seeing any visible benefit. New Balance Toning shoes help you get past that stage, producing visible differences in shape in the fastest time frame. In addition to toning and shaping your leg muscles, they also increase calorie burning to help shift those extra pounds.
New Balance Rock & Tone trainers were the first toning shoes release, and have now been on the market long enough for women to realise the benefits, and the feedback on their effectiveness in toning is good. Since NB have designed fashionable designs, without a pronounced thick sole, it encourages women to wear them more often, turning any daily activity into a toning session.
Many modern shoes are highly restrictive and whilst they may be well cushioned, they prevent a natural foot movement. Tense, sore, and tired feet are a common complaint; however the wellness range of toning shoes can help to reduce the strain, by moving the foot through a more natural muscle stretching roll from heel to toe. They aim to replicate walking barefoot in soft sand with the heel perfectly cushioned, being gently propelled to the toes, helping to increase the speed of walking. The foot is perfectly supported throughout the walking gait thanks to their Walking Strike Path® design. Rock & Tone trainers will boost muscle activity by up to 27%, whilst increasing calorie burning by up to 8%.
However this month, New Balance has bettered even this excellent shoe, with the launch of New Balance True Balance toning shoes. The Rock & Tone already had great looks, with the sky blue uppers and fashionable design one of the most popular toning shoes for women. The colour scheme has been replicated in New Balance True Balance shoes with a design closely resembling that of their popular running shoes. By redesigning the toning technology, they perfected a slim line and lightweight system which gets the burn with a low profile upper.
The shoes take their inspiration from the balance board and replicate the same toning process. By introducing instabilities a much wider range of muscle groups are activated, which are little used when walking normally. They also increase the time each muscle is activated, toning more comprehensively with every step you take.
The shoes toning properties come from an innovatively designed midsole. Traditionally EVA foam rubber is used in this section due to its ability to absorb impact forces and return to its original shape. In New Balance trainers, ACTEVA ULTRALITE foam is used which improves on the cushioning but is 32% lighter than standard foam rubber. The midsole encourages the bones of the feet to align naturally and allows for a natural flex making walking in New Balance True Balance a pleasure.
The outsole is rounded, however not such a high degree that they look unnatural when wearing them, and is constructed from Ndurance rubber for the maximum lifespan and excellent wet and dry grip. Sandwiched between these two layers is the main component responsible for increasing muscle activity. The spring system introduces small instabilities into the walking gait. The body responds by activating more muscles and increasing the duration of activity in each step.
The shoes function perfectly as standard trainers yet tone the whole of the lower body and increase calorie consumption. They styles are great in their own right, and for anyone looking to try out toning shoes for the first time, they are an excellent choice. The shoes even improve on the already impressive stats of the Rock & Tone, offering up to 29% increased muscle activity and 10% more calorie burning.
If you want to look good whilst you work your lower body, then both models are an excellent choice, but if you don’t want to announce that you are toning, then it has to be New Balance True Balance trainers.
